The Cask, Bavarian Style Double Bock
The Cask, named for the Poe short story The Cask of Amontillado, is a dark, smooth, malty, full-bodied & robust beer with toasty malt, toffee notes that one expects from a barrel aged beer (but it is not) and warms the insides from its 8% abv. Best when served in a snifter glass.
Being a high alcohol and full flavored beer, The Cask ages well when stored in a cool dark place

Dark Usher: Dark Kölsch - a German-style ale
Dark Usher Kölsch. A German-style Kölsch, named after Poe's Fall of the House of Usher, is dark, but still of the classic Kölsch taste. It exhibits soft and subtle fruit flavors and aromas. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel, 4.8% abv, with slight noble hop nose, that is worth falling for. It’s "Insanely Good."

Pendulum Pilsner
Pendulum Pilsner is a rich velvet smooth, yet clean, dry and crisp pilsner of a pale gold color. The complex mix of hops and malt creates an elegant floral nose and delightful taste that is very drinkable without overwhelming even the most tepid beer drinker. Not overly bitter but just enough of the hop to enjoy their subtle complexities while still enjoying the smooth, and almost sweet taste of the malt.
Serve Pendulum in a tall glass to enjoy the carbonated bead and the steady white head that laces the glass and taste why Pendulum Pilsner is A Cut Above The Rest.

Tell Tale Heart IPA
Your first experience is visual from the rocky white foam and lace, and then through extended dry hopping your senses pickup the citrus/flowery bouquet. The initial taste is subdued, but gradually becomes intense without any harsh bitterness. This American IPA is well balanced where the malt is as part of the flavor profile as that of the hops.
"It Never Skips A Beat."

Grapefruit Tell Tale Heart IPA
This is our Tell Tale Heart IPA where, after dry hopping and filtering, we infuse grapefruit concentrate into the beer. In a tea bag fashion, we soak zested grapefruit peels into the beer. The grapefruit brings out more citrus flavors in this IPA and subdues much of the hop bitterness found in its Tell Tale source.
For now, our Grapefruit IPA is sold in draft and firkins (10.8 ) only.

Variety Pack-4 Different Poe's In A Box, 12 Bottles

Our Variety Box of 12 bottles is reminiscent of Poe. It contains a selection of three beers named after the best of Poe's works, and the fourth, a beer of mystery.
Entombed in each box, beer lovers unfold: The Raven Special Lager, Pendulum Pilsner, Tell Tale Heart IPA and like Poe himself, a beer of mystery. The variety pack is a great gift or offering to any party and a perfect selection in celebrating January 19 (Poe's birthday) each and every year.

20th Anniversary Raven Special Lager
Premium Edition

We took our award winning flagship beer The Raven, jacked it up with more malt and hops but backed out the darker malts to lighten up the color and added Columbus hops to the boil. This gave us exactly what we wanted- more body, more mouth feel, some hoppiness balanced with the increase in malt, higher alcohol but with a much lighter colored beer that's deceptive when compared to our classic Raven Special Lager. Poe was always deceptive and seldom predicable. We showed this with our black Dark Usher, an unusual dark Kölsch that is as clean and light as any Kölsch and now Poe again comes true to form with this premium lager; visually light, but not light in taste and body. Light , but rich, full of flavor, a queer deception, typical of the master of the macabre.

The Imp and the Madhouse Oyster Stout

Our oyster stout is made with whole Chesapeake Bay oysters from Madhouse Oysters of Fishing Creek, MD. Oysters are added to large teabag-like sacs and suspended in the hot wort for 15 minutes. Our 6.0% stout is neither a dry nor a sweet stout. It is a smooth and very drinkable stout that is a bit salty in the finish. The stout’s name comes from Poe’s short story The Imp of the Perverse where the narrator brags about his clever murderous deed and expresses no remorse in his heinous crime. He continues to insist that we all have in our heads an Imp dictating to us self-destructive impulses. The reader eventually comes to realize the narrator’s insanity and discovers that he is locked away within a “Madhouse.”
“Have you found your Imp?”

Poe Knows Haze
Smooth and full bodied mouth feel. Like it's older but lighter brother Tell-Tale, this hazy double IPA has a strong malt backbone, well balanced up front and in the back with hop bitterness and flavor. Dry hopping gives it a lovely citrusy flavor, and lactose, another level of smoothness.
